Hello friends! I’m a freshman in college who indulges in crafts, particularly the fiber arts. I’ve only been crocheting as of Nov 2022!

As a crocheter, it’s tempting to buy synthetic yarns that are financially accessible so that I can create plenty of projects. I eventually realized that synthetic yarns like acrylic, blends of polyester, nylon, etc, are harming our environment. Finding this out I switched over to cotton (which is soft!). Definitely feels better than acrylic!

Large productions of synthetic fibers come from the fast fashion industry and our own usage of textiles like yarn. This website was created to inform others about their consumer habits on environmentally harmful textiles and find alternative options to continue practicing their craft.

Crafting is important to our identities, one of the ways we can connection to small communities!
